Intermediate Summer Book Club - Book List

This summer book club is for children who are entering grades 4 to grade 7 and is an extension to the Summer Reading Club that they may have attended when they were younger. The aim of the Summer Book Club is to encourage continued reading over the summer and to introduce children in Intermediate grades to new books. Rather than games and read-aloud stories, we will meet twice a week for 1/2 an hour to review our books, learn of new titles and participate in a group discussion,   Children will be encouraged to write short reviews that can be added to our website. A suggested list of 25 titles will be available online at at the library by mid-June.  The library will have duplicate copies of these books and children will be encourages to read some of these books over the holidays. Book discussion won't be limited to the selected titles and children are encouraged to 'book talk' other books they are reading and share these will the group.
