Whistler Public Library will be reborn as Whistler Canada Olympic House during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games. The building will serve as an accredited hosting facility for the Canadian Olympic Committee, the Government of Canada, the Government of British Columbia, and the Resort Municipality of Whistler.
Whistler Canada Olympic House will host four public events during this time, on Saturday, February 6 and on three Saturdays: February 13, 20 and 27. More details about these events will be added as they become available.
Library services will be unavailable for 5 weeks during Games time. Our last day of regular operations will be Friday, January 29, 2010. We will reopen to the public at 11 am on Monday, March 8, 2010.
We would like to encourage all our patrons to check out as many books and audiobooks as you like during the week of January 25-29. All these items will have a loan period of 6 weeks, making them due during the week of March 8-12. All movies, CDs & magazines must be returned before we close on the 29th. During the period running up to the 29th, loan periods on these items will be adjusted to end on the 29th.
We will not be able to accept any returns during the closure period. The book drops will be locked, and we ask that no library materials be left outside the library.
Please contact us if you have any questions about the library's closure.
