DESCRIPTION:A Legal Advocate is at the library every 4th Wednesday from 12 to 2 p.m. for drop-in conversations – no appointment necessary. \nThe Sea to Sky Community Services Legal Advocacy Program offers free advocacy support and assistance to financially restricted individuals and families in Squamish, Whistler, and Pemberton.\nThe Legal Advocate provides one-on-one legal advice to low-income clients.\nThis ranges from referrals to summary advice to full representation—and the Legal Advocate also offers public education, information, guidance, and mediation support across a variety of legal topics, such as:\n\nHousing, including residential tenancy disputes\nEmployment issues related to employment insurance and employment standards\nIncome assistance, such as disability applications and appeals, information on rights and benefits\nCanada Pension Plan Disability (CPP-D) and Persons With Disabilities (PWD) appeals\nConsumer and debt issues\n\nCan’t make the Wednesday Drop-In?
