Illustrated by Karlene Harvey, the picture book follows Wałaas and her dzi’i (grandmother), who travel by fishing boat to their family’s reserve of Kitkatla for spring break. For Wałaas, Kitkatla always feels like home, and she spends her days wandering the shore, enjoying traditional foods like fresh chiton and sea urchin, and listening to the adults speak Sm’algya̱x.\nThis event is free to attend!
