Beginner Bike Maintenance Workshops

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to take care of your bike year-round, how to get it ready for riding after the winter, and how to manage maintenance out on the trails. We’ll cover how to fix flats and change tires, and we’ll discuss what you should be able to repair or adjust yourself, and how to recognize problems that should be addressed by a bike shop. If we have time, we’ll touch on the basics of recognizing shifting issues and possible solutions.

Please note that these workshops are designed for beginners – we won’t be covering brake or suspension maintenance.

This workshop will be offered twice: Saturday, June 3 from 1 to 3 p.m. and Tuesday, June 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. Participants may only attend one workshop!

Registration is required, and space is limited! Email publicservices@whistlerlibrary.ca to sign up for either workshop, max two spots per person! These workshops are for adults only.

These workshops are presented in partnership with AWARE Whistler and the Whistler Adventure School! The mechanics facilitating these sessions have completed WAS’s Mountain Sport Technician Course.
