Picture This! Picture Book Reading
Calling kids of all ages!
Cozy up and join authors Esi Edugyan (Garden of Lost Socks) and Peggy Janicki (The Secret Pocket) as they read from their new picture books. Garden of Lost Socks, illustrated by Amélie Dubois, takes readers on a whimsical journey of friendship, curiosity, and discovery of the magic of a vibrant community. The Secret Pocket is based on the author’s own mother’s experience at residential school. It chronicles survival and resilience in the face of genocide and cruelty and is a celebration of quiet resistance to injustice. Sewing skills passed down through generations of Indigenous women gave children a future, stitch by stitch.
