Saturday Sessions with MAC: Making Connections – Supporting Dementia Patients & Their Caregivers
Join Whistler Mature Action Community (MAC) for a new monthly series exploring all things health and wellbeing!
March Topic: Making Connections – Supporting Dementia Patients & Their Caregivers
Presented by Valerie Whiffen, Ph.D. & Charalyn Kriz.
Dementia can result from many causes: stroke, neurodegenerative diseases such as Parkinson’s, Alzheimers, or Lewy Body Disease. The consequences are devastating, both for the person with the diagnosis and for their caregiver. Making Connections was created by Charalyn Kriz and MAC to support patients and caregivers. After a brief introduction to dementia by Valerie, Charalyn will talk about the history of Making Connections and the format of the program. Testimonials from caregivers who have gone through the program will conclude the seminar.
This series is free to attend, and refreshments will be provided. Registration is encouraged – email publicservices@whistlerlibrary.ca to sign up!
