Baby Sign Language 101

These virtual sessions will teach parents and caregivers exactly how to start signing with their little ones for early communication success. We’ll learn American Sign Language signs that are pertinent to support daily routines and conversations with little ones aged 0 to 12 months. New signs will be introduced each week with accompanying songs to help both adults and babies learn easily and playfully together. Babies can be awake or asleep as the adults will learn skills to also be practiced outside of class time.

Registration opens on Friday, April 1 at 10 a.m., and space is limited! Email publicservices@whistlerlibrary.ca to sign up. Please let us know the age of your child when you register. You will be signing up for all four weeks of this program!

About the facilitator:

Lee Ann Steyns is a mother of two big kids and a former educator and kids’ program planner. Her passion for teaching other families to sign with their babies is infectious and she loves helping families learn exactly how to create happy, respectful, early communication using sign language.
