EXTERNAL: SPARK Program
S.P.A.R.K. (Supporting Parents Along the Road to Kindergarten) is a free program designed for parents and caregivers of children from newborn to age 5. Through fun, engaging sessions, you’ll learn valuable strategies and activities to support your child’s early learning and development.
Each family attends a 60-minute live virtual session once every fall, winter, and spring, continuing until your child enters kindergarten. During each session, you’ll join other caregivers of similarly aged children to explore how children learn and grow. S.P.A.R.K. is based on the British Columbia Early Learning Framework.
What to Expect:
- Interactive, age-specific virtual sessions with other families
- Toys and learning materials provided when you register
- Opportunities to reflect, connect, and learn with a supportive community
- A philosophy grounded in the belief that learning happens naturally through everyday experiences, relationships, and joy
- Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library – Important Information:
As part of the S.P.A.R.K. program, families have the opportunity to register for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library, which delivers a free, age-appropriate book to your child every month until their fifth birthday.
To be eligible:
- You must register each time the S.P.A.R.K. program is offered — up to three times per year (fall, winter, and spring).
- You must attend the virtual session in order to join or continue in the Imagination Library.
- Non-attendance at a session means you will not be eligible to receive books from the Imagination Library program.
The virtual sessions are on Wednesdays starting May 6 from 10 to 11 a.m. and 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
- Parents of Infants: Wednesday, May 6
