Introduction to CranioSacral Therapy (CST)

Join Registered Massage Therapist Anita D’Onghia for an introduction to CranioSacral Therapy (CST). CST is a gentle, hands-on complementary therapy that uses light touch to release restrictions in the craniosacral system, which includes the brain, spinal cord, membranes, and the cerebrospinal fluid.

This presentation will include:

  • A brief explanation of CST and the theory behind the technique
  • Some history of the doctors who developed CST
  • The anatomy of the craniosacral system, with a focus on the cranial bones and membranes
  • The actual practice of craniosacral therapy, including the types of practitioners who use this modality, a description of a typical session, and the expected outcomes of a session
  • Applications for CST
  • Time for a Q&A with Anita

About the facilitator:

Anita D’Onghia is a Registered Massage Therapist with the Complementary Health Professionals of BC and a Certified CranioSacral Therapist with Upledger Institute of CranioSacral Therapy. She has spent the past 20 years learning about the human body, health, and healing. She studied Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa and graduated with an honors degree in a Bachelor of Science. She then studied at the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, where she graduated as a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, followed by time at MH Vicars School of Massage Therapy, where she became a practicing Registered Massage Therapist.
