Migrant Worker Support Services Drop-In

A Migrant Support Worker is at the library every Wednesday from 1:30 to 5 p.m. for drop-in conversations – no appointment necessary.

Please note: there will be no Migrant Worker Support Services on Wednesdays, December 24 & 31. This program will return on Wednesday, January 7, 2026!

  • Are you a Temporary Foreign Worker living or working in Whistler?
  • Do you have a closed work permit, open work permit for vulnerable workers, or a maintained status and feel uncertain about your rights in Canada?
  • Do you believe that you are subjected to any sort of bias and/or abuse at your current workplace?
The Migrant Worker Support Program provides guidance and assists you in accessing any resources and services you may need:
  • Information and referral: Information and referral services are available to help migrant workers access a range of supports, including healthcare, social services, legal services, and pathways to permanent residency.
  • Employment standards: Support is available for migrant workers seeking information about worker rights, including minimum wage, overtime pay, and other labour standards.
  • Health and safety: Guidance is provided on how to file a WorkSafeBC claim in the event of a workplace injury, along with support for health and safety concerns in the workplace.
  • Work permit: Assistance is offered to migrant workers experiencing workplace harassment, discrimination, or unfair treatment, including support for an open work permit for vulnerable workers application.
  • English language: Help is available to understand documents, applications, and forms related to various work permits, along with opportunities for English language practice.

  • Visit Adam at the Food Bank (8000 Nesters Road) on Fridays between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.
  • Visit Adam at PearlSpace (1519 Spring Creek Drive) on the last Thursday of each month between 1 and 3 p.m.

The Migrant Worker Support Program is offered by the Whistler Multicultural Society and funded through MOSAIC (Multi-lingual Orientation Service Association for Immigrant Communities) by Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC).
