Virtual Quest Lecture Series

We’re partnering with our friends at the Squamish Public Library and the Pemberton & District Public Library to bring our Quest Lecture series online! In this series, Quest University professors present a lecture on their area of expertise and answer your questions on the topic.

March lecture: My favourite mathematical resources on the internet with Mathematics Tutor Asia Matthews.

There are so many interesting people doing interesting things out there in the world these days and I just want to learn it all. I’ve had a lot of folks ask me recently about inspirational mathematical resources, so I’ve curated a list of my favourite places to go on the internet to be inspired by math. I’ll share a list with you and show you a few videos, for example Vi Hart talking about snakes on a plane, 3Blue1Brown and the mysteries of polarized lenses, Mark Rober analyzing the game of Guess Who, and murder/suicide with Numberphile. I hope these resources will get you excited and give you something to mull over while you’re passing the time.
