EXTERNAL: Supporting 2SLGBTQ+ Children and Youth at School

Sea to Sky Allies invites parents and caregivers of school-aged children and youth to participate in a conversation addressing the unique support needs of 2SLGBTQ+ students in the school environment.

We will be discussing the ways that parents/caregivers can set expectations for, and advocate with school staff to ensure their child/youth’s authentic identity will be accounted for & supported as they head back to school. We’ll discuss name & pronoun changes, navigating washroom & change room spaces, the importance of inclusive classroom language & supporting the emotional needs of your child/youth and yourself as you navigate this.

All Sea to Sky Allies conversations are LEARN & SHARE events, so please come to learn, and if you have relevant and helpful experiences to share, we are open to learning from you!
