Monday, July 8, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Writing Fantastical Creatures

Are you ready to create fantastical creatures? In this creative writing class with Rebecca Wood Barrett, we’ll look at some of the most memorable imagined creatures, and brainstorm ideas on how to create your own! We’ll talk about why some invented beings are so memorable, and how you can create your own unforgettable beasts to make your story thrilling to read.

Wednesday, August 21, 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Writing Mysteries About Rarities

Whodunit? You! Join author and teacher Rebecca Wood Barrett and learn how to write your very own mystery. Together we’ll create an intriguing character who solves the crime of a priceless oddity, curio, or rarity. We’ll invent believable suspects, motives, and red herrings to throw readers off the scent. You’ll learn how to sneakily bury real clues in other story details, and how to reveal the culprit at the end of your mini-mystery.
