What is BC Summer Reading Club?
The BC Summer Reading Club is a free literacy program designed to engage school-aged children with libraries and reading throughout the summer.
The BC Summer Reading Club is sponsored by the British Columbia Library Association and public libraries throughout British Columbia, with generous support from the Province of British Columbia, through Libraries Branch, Ministry of Education and CUPE BC. Additional support is received from Public Library InterLINK and BC Libraries Co-op.
How do my kids participate in BC Summer Reading Club?
This year, BC Summer Reading Club has gone virtual with the all new BC SRC app! With the help of a caregiver, kids can register on the app to track their summer reading goals and unlock fun badges all summer long. Starting on June 29, kids will also have access to all kinds of fun online activities through the app!
If your child would still like to use a physical reading record booklet this summer, they will be available for pick-up at the Library! You can pick them up on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Please line up in the Holds Pick-up Line and let the greeter know you are looking for a reading record when it is your turn to enter the lobby.
What else is the library offering this summer?
This summer we are bringing you a variety of fun programs, all online, and all created for you to enjoy at home or physically distanced in nature!
