As we kick off a new chapter in the Whistler Public Library’s journey, we are excited to launch our Strategic Plan Community Engagement! This initiative marks a pivotal moment in our ongoing commitment to reflect, serve and enrich our community.
Why do we need a new strategic plan? Simply put, we want to align our vision with the evolving needs and aspirations of our community. We want all members of our community to feel a sense of ownership and pride in their library. Our space is so much more than bricks and mortar. We’re proud to be “Whistler’s living room”, a vibrant hub of connection, exploration, and inspiration.
Your Voice Matters
Whistler is more than just a destination – it is a vibrant tapestry of cultures, perspectives, and experiences. Rooted on the unceded territories of the Lil’wat Nation and Squamish Nation, our library welcomes residents of all ages, including seasonal staff, newcomers, and those who live, work, and play in the Sea to Sky corridor. Each voice adds depth and richness to the story of who we are as a library and as a community.
So, how can you get involved? Our community engagement process aims to be as inclusive and accessible as possible. There’s a place for everyone at the table, and we can’t wait to hear your thoughts.

About the Timeline
Our engagement process will run from April 9 to May 10, 2024, culminating in a draft updated strategic plan presented to the Library Board in late June 2024. We aim to ensure that the voices, values, and priorities of our community are reflected in this plan, setting the stage for a future that we can all be proud of.
